The Dance
Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance
Holding you, I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say? you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance
Yes my life, it's better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

That song always makes Momma cry because it is so poignant. It's also a perfect way to remember Payton. I am so glad I had the privilege of knowing her and calling her my friend.

I agree with Tiffy, the perfect song. We think we can prepare ourselves for when that day comes and we have to say goodbye. But we never are prepared for the deep pain of losing one of our precious furbabies. By the same token we wouldn't trade our time with them for anything, they give us so much. We are keeping dear Payton's family in our hearts and prayers.

I agree with Tiffy too. The news completely broke my heart & Mom's too. We are blessed to have known her & her family in person.

What a beautiful tribute for a beautiful girl! We never got to meet Payton, her pawrents or grandpawrents but we know she was loved by many and will be missed!
