Favorite time of the year

My mom's favorite time of year is fall. She HATES the days getting shorter, and gets into a funk because of that. But she's learned to adapt.....by celebrating Halloween to the MAX! I swear we have more Halloween decorations than Christmas decorations.

In honor of Halloween, she created a new design for her CafePress Shop. She plans on ordering one herself and wearing it to the PugOWeen.

One in fawn. And of course, one in black (she always makes sure to have a black version for all her designs).

It's been a year...

...since we made the big move to Texas.

In one year (plus change):

Mom lost her job

Sold our house

This is me in front of our old house

Moved in with dad's mom (and half lived in the motorhome)

Living in the TrailerHood

Dad quit his job

Drove from Sacramento to Fort Worth in 4 days - with all our stuff, the motorhome and 5 dogs

Mom's view the entire trip

Crossing the Texas State Line

Put all our crap into storage

Packed full

Lived in the motorhome for a month

Dad chillin' while I chew on my dog bed

Found a rental house that was tiny with a big backyard

Cooking some chow in our ugly rental kitchen

Lived across the street from drug dealers

Found an agility trainer

Where we practice sometimes

Went to lots of agility trials

99% of our shows are INSIDE!

Mom found a job (that she loves)

Dad found a job (not so much)

Bought a house with a really big backyard

Our new house

Whew, what a year. Can't wait to see what the next year brings.

Peek-a-Boo

I have a weird habit of hiding behind cloth. I sit behind curtains and blankets, with them laying on my head, and just survey my domain. It's been awhile since I've felt like doing it, and never did it while we were in our rental.

But this weekend, I was back to my old peeking self.

Pugalicious

Arnie's doing some quality control on mom's newest design in her Etsy Shop.

Pugalicious is my nickname here in Texas. When I started my new class here, everybody started calling me that. Now, I'm known around the ring as Pugalicious. I like it!

What? There's some cloud cover, so you want to take me outside to take MORE pictures?

I know I have a lovely mug, but I HATE to sit still. And picture-taking means I have to sit still.

Maybe I'll hide here, and she won't see me.

What? There will be treats involved?

Be right there!

Nom, nom, nom.....I love picture-taking.

Agility Season is Ramping Up

That's Arnie, patiently waiting for the fall agility trials to get here. Mom's burning up the checkbook, trying to get as many trials in as we can before the end of the year.

We have so many to choose from, it's kind of cool. Our first one isn't until October, then it will be work, work, work about every other weekend.

I can't wait.

Cooler Temps

The temperature finally dropped here in Texas,
so mom and dad decided to take advantage of it.

So we..........drumroll please............WENT TO THE DOG PARK!

Our new house is about 15 minutes from here:

That's the "big dog" side. We're not going in there.

Everybody had the same idea, and the place was packed.
There's a regular side, and a "small dog only" side.
We went into the small dog side.
I have a big attitude, and mom was afraid I'd get into trouble.

One of the "big dogs". Yup, I could totally take him.

This was more our style.

He's even shorter than I am.

That's not to say there wasn't fun to be had.
Arnie loves, loves, LOVES the dog park.
He makes lots of friends, plays with everybody, and runs around like a fool.
All with a huge smile on his face.

Me, not so much. Notice the flat ears. I am NOT happy here.
I had just finally taken the big step to play chase with another dog,
and as I was running back toward mom, someone threw a ball,
and it scared me. Yikes!

Incoming!!!!

But I sucked it up, and found another friend to play with.
Mom and dad thought it was so funny to see me doing the pug scoot,
since I rarely cut loose.

I'll never be this dog, but I am learning to have fun in public.
Maybe we'll go back this weekend, too.

Have a great weekend.
