Cuteness Alert - PugOWeen Recap

We went to our second DFW Pug Rescue Pug-O-Ween Party. Mom and dad had good intentions in the "awesome costume" department, but the move and dad's crazy work hours got in the way. So we dragged out the costume box, and wore what was in there.

I went as my signature pirate. Got lots of oohs and aahhs. And treats. Always a good thing.

Arnie went with his jester collar. He's NUTS in a costume, and mom ends up readjusting it constantly. So she went with simple and low maintenance.

She wanted low maintenance so that she could take lots of pictures. First stop, snack table. There were so many awesome looking cupcakes and cookies, but mom isn't a big sweet food person, and dad wasn't hungry. So we just looked.

Watching the costume contest.

3 Pugs in a Tub. Not the greatest shot, but they were so popular, mom couldn't get close to them.

A scary witch.

Plenty of food themed costumes.

Dad just loved this little butterfly.

Mom loved these guys - a Pug-kin Patch.

Another shot of that scary witch.

Celebrities were there, too. This is Marilyn.

This is Lady Gaga.

At the end of the day, we did get to visit the snack table. Mom got us some minty treats, and there are no photos because we gobbled them up so fast!

Good Agility Weekend

We got to play in agility this weekend.
Arnie went with us, and we both did great.

Mom was too busy working and running us to take many pictures,
but she snapped one of the ring before we started.

Saturday was hot. REALLY hot. But we were kept soaked down (yuck), and the fan was on us the whole time (double yuck), so we were cool all day. Arnie and I are in the same level and jump height, and with only 30 dogs entered, we usually ran with one dog between us. So mom was gasping for breath most of the day.

Towards the end of the day, the Blue Angels started flying over.
There was an air show nearby, and we got to see the show.
It was awesome.

It rained Saturday night, so Sunday was MUDDY. There were clouds, so it was much cooler. But we slipped and slid through the tunnels, and mom almost went down on her rear a few times.

In spite of the slippery conditions, we managed to get 12 qualifying ribbons.
Arnie is in all Level 4 classes, and I'm in Level 4 in a few classes.

Here's me, watching mom on the drive home.

Saving the world, one lizard at a time

Yesterday I saved a life. When dad took me out to the yard to go potty, I scurried over to the fence and started sniffing. Since I'm a girl dog, this is unusual for me :) So dad followed me and found a poor little lizard that had gotten stuck in our fencing.

He had scale things that meant he could only go forward, not backward, and he was too fat to squeeze through.

So dad helped him get loose, and here he is recovering from the ordeal. When mom went back a few minutes after this picture was taken, he was gone. Home to his family, I'm sure.

Chalk one up for Gracie.

Happy Belated Birthday, Levi

Mom's been so busy working, she didn't get to blog a birthday wish for Levi. He got lots of kisses, pets and treats, so he didn't suffer at all.

To celebrate his 13th birthday, she took his picture in our new yard.

She tried to get him to sit, but he can't hear or see so well, and didn't know what to do. So she let him smell the treat and he pulled out the stops. Here he is doing his "signature" trick - sneezing.

Here he was at the Pug Nationals in 2004. Mom co-chaired their first agility trial, and Levi competed. He got lots of ribbons, and was a good boy, as usual.

Happy Birthday, bro. I know I attack you all the time, but you shouldn't take it personally. I just hate anyone else getting MY attention and treats.

Training Buddies

Trained last night with my buddy, Tori. Don't you love her contact behavior?

It was a good session, and we learned lots.
