Happy Birthday Dad

I wanted to give a shout out and a BIG Happy Birthday to my dad. Mom trains me and shows me, but dad spoils me. As in ROTTEN.

He shares his lap with me.

He shares his snacks with me.

He shares his walks with me.

He shares the bed with me.

He treats me like the queen I am.

We have a big weekend planned. My bestie, Suki, and her mom are coming to town. Let the celebration begin!

Mom's new blog - Food Truck Parks USA

Mom loves to eat at food trucks, so she decided to start a blog to help folks find and talk about food truck parks.

Check it out here.

You'll see me checking out our local food truck park - Clearfork Food Park

The other dogs that share my life - Puck

This is my big brother, Puck, in his younger years. He's 16 years old now, and starting to slow down (finally). He eats great, but is disoriented a lot, and his back legs don't work so great anymore.

He's a pug mix (not sure what he's mixed with), and was mom's agility partner for many years.

Just thought you might like to see the creatures I share my life with, and who paved the way for my agility success. He taught mom a lot of lessons about what and what not to do, when training an agility dog.

Puck, playing in the ocean. Just about his favorite thing on earth to do

Stained Glass Project - Making Headway

Mom's been tearing it up on the stained glass front. She's almost finished with the Pug part.

Walk on the Wild Side

Mom and dad love animals, and one of their very places to visit is Safari West. Just north of Napa, California, it's an animal park that has overnight accommodations. A few years ago, they went for their birthday.

The rooms are luxury tents, similar to tents used in African safaris

The bathroom vanity is a carved piece of wood

The white version

One of the best features is Lemur Island

Mom and dad drank their morning coffee watching the Lemurs warm up

Just hanging out in the morning sun

Hey, what are you lookin' at?

Mom could have watched them all morning

But as much as watching Lemurs was fun, they had a truck transport to catch

The truck drives through the animal enclosures

They drove right up to the Giraffes

Necks and spots everywhere

Safari West is known for their Giraffe breeding program

Gentle giants

All sorts of animals live together

This is how close we got to the animals

Butts on display

Not the prettiest fellow

This gal wandered freely around the park. She would scare visitors into dropping their food, and then snatch up a snack. Sadly, she died shortly after their trip, of old age. She had lived many years at Safari West.

Lazy Days of Summer

Even when it's hot out, I have to have my snuggly blankets. Comfort first!

Ready, Set, Go!

It's no secret that I love to run agility. When we step out onto the course, I can't control myself, and struggle and squirm, so mom will let me RUN NOW!

Here are some shots of me when we start the run, so you can feel mom's pain....

Mom struggling to get my leash off - I'm trying to bite the leash while she's getting it over my head.

Mom giving me a little lecture about behaving myself. HA

You have to wait until the timer says "ready", and I hate waiting. This is me biting her hands, because she won't let me take off.

And we're off, me screaming the whole way.

Taking the first obstacle with room to spare.

Burning up the course, and taking the turn on one wheel.

Here we are on our next run.

Mom's already got the leash off, and is hanging on to me so I don't take off running before the "ready". It's a tough job.

She finally lets me go, and I fly to the first obstacle.

Like a speeding bullet, I zero in on that tunnel.

HA - fooled you, mom. I went in between the tunnel and timer pole. NOT the right move, but I just couldn't help myself. Here we are trying it again. That's a Pug for you.

Got it that time. On to the next obstacle.

Hope you enjoyed the show.
